Overview
Following the success of Chicago Fire, a spin-off was created. This time, it's in Chicago and it's a police department. The show functions in a similar way to its parent, but with a smaller main cast and obviously a different area of expertise. Largely follows the Intelligence unit of the Chicago PD.
Stuff
I enjoyed this show more than I thought I would - a lot more - considering that I wasn't particularly keen on any of the promotional videos or the synopsis of the thing. I thought that it probably wouldn't work as well as Chicago Fire, given that this is another police procedural, and I was also wondering if it would go down the same overly dramatic, narrowly focused path as Law & Order: SVU did (they share an executive producer). I was pleasantly surprised! The show is fast-paced, witty, and has a great balance of personal stories and policework. The subplots in each episode containing the adventures of two uniformed police officers are also a massive part of what makes it so good, because it's not all about the nitty-gritty detective work.

Today's Header
Taken from episode 1x15, A Beautiful Friendship. Burgess was really just killing it in this episode. I love the way she rattled off all the things she noticed about the robbery in progress - very astute. Unfortunately this is a rubbish picture.
